A Public Service Announcement
- by McCall
This post is for all of my non-computer nerd friends out there.
Over the past few weeks I’ve talked to 4 friends that read blogs everyday and they don’t know about feed readers. If this includes you, keep reading because I’m about to simplify your life.
So, what a feed reader does is update you every time someone writes a new post on their blog, thus saving you from wasting your time checking people’s blogs who rarely write (I know I’m guilty of that).
The easiest way is if you use gmail you can add the blogs that you normally read right there on your e-mail account. Along the top of your e-mail page are different features you can use through gmail, and one is reader. Once you’ve opened the reader feature you can copy and paste all your favorite blogs by clicking on add a subscription. From then on, anytime someone updates their blog the name of the blog will be in bold.
If you don’t use gmail (shame on you) then another good place to get your feeds is www.bloglines.com. Simply set up an account, add your favorites and log in anytime to view all the pictures your friends post of their kids!
P.S. As another helpful hint, those of you who have music on you page, you might not know that it is internet etiquette to allow the viewer to play the music instead of automatically starting.
