Utah County has just banned longboarding on county run trails. That sounds fair- and while we are making new regulations lets ban Protestants from public parks.
Oh, Johny you know how to say it best.
This reminds me of the good-ol’-days when they banned snowboarding from some ski resorts.
Psssssttttt, Utah officals- A great way to make something that is already taking off get bigger is make it defiant too.
BTW- What about skateboarding??

Super gay. Super super duper gay. Fabulous gay.
I wrote utah county commission and told them they were all a bunch of dumbasses. I doesn’t really matter for me, I don’t think I’m staying in Utah for much longer anyway.
p.s. Watch for a link from provopulse
Local highschools have started banning boys wearing girls pants. What are the emo longboarders going to do!?!?
But seriously though, if provo had it’s way they would probably ban people using sissors and crossing streets cause sometimes people get hurt.
I don’t know if the guy who said, “we hate longboarders, thanks utah county” were serious. If so, I hope you die a slow painful death and are cordially escorted to your bunked corner of hell by satan himself.
Until next time,
KEEP LONGBOARDING!
This is exactly why this place is 20 years behind. I dont plan on staying in backwards Utah much longer myself.
Well I dont know why Provo thinks it’s not healthy and safe, this UThealth.com site I found thinks it is.

longboarding is the best thing that happened to this world, screw you
Really Joe?… Did you even read the post? I think it was winners like you that influenced this decision.
I wish that the city just wouldnt make so many laws but if you think about it older people walk and vote and younger people longboard and dont vote
screw you all, longboarding is for real men
Ya that is the biggest bull, were as dangerous as any skateboarder, rollerblader, biker, etc. I was on the trail boarding, and i saw This Rollerblader come flying past everyone and nail a whole group of people… So what do you think about that!! I hear of less longboard accidents up there then bicycle accidents and Rollerbladers. Gosh by the way dont dissobey unless you go the cash. Its 500$ fine if you get caught and they say if you do it again theyll raise it up to a 1000$ fine. Sucks balls its does..
First of all: you all need to learn how to properly use English. If you are going to comment, use the fantastic tool God gave us: spellchecker.
Second: I do agree with most of you. Longboarding should not be banned. Everybody looks at longboarders and skateboarders and simply assumes that we are all a bunch of no good punks. I am sick of this prejudice against us! Power to the board!!!
Hey you dumbasses!!! Quit your bitching and read this:

Wow, I posted this in ‘07 and I still get comments on it. The best part is that people can’t read dates. I guess I should run an update on the post. HA!~
yea i get the same thing here i got a 125$ ticket for longboarding in a public park that had no sign saying no skating bunch of BS if you ask me longboarding is no different then a bike longboarding is how i get around now WTF am i supposed to do??
So basically where are other good places in utah county to longboard and I vote we get a huge rally of hundreds of boarders and ride the trails any way and just totally hog it up or go totally block off a whole street and ride it and just not let cars in or out and tell them that were sorry but we don’t have any where else to ride we keep gettin kicked out? but it has to be a main high traffic road.
I’m new in Utah where are some good places to ride
God of the Board posted a link that was talking about a trail that the ban is soon to be uplifted. where is that?
This I think is perfect
Sorry if it’s a tad long..
Here’s what I have to say on this matter. Sure I live in Australia and yes, this post was done in 2007, BUT this is a serious issue as I am a longboarder myself, and a committed one at that.
First of all, longboards are a more economical and cheap way of transportation; so everytime you get on to a board to get from A to B, your saving the environment by not using a vehicle that’s powered by fossil fuels, and saving a few dollars by not spending money on the gasoline for that vehicle.
Secondly, it’s completely unfair on all levels of the spectrum to make a passionate hobby of many as against the law.
Thirldly, longboards don’t damage anything. They don’t kill or injure people, they have nothing to do with vandalism, and they certainly do not have the same damaging and fundamental similarities to a skateboard.
Fourthly, most longboarders today have a calm and relaxed personality – this means that longboarders get together and have a good time without finding the need to fight or be holligans by destroying their surroundings. They are too busy having a good time on their boards, and as a result, you have a comunity that older generations long for.
Fifthly, a longboard can be used by anyone, at any age. The alodescent consumer are not the only ones who are interested in longboarding, for i have come across people from ages between 8 to 53 who believe it’s a good idea for many reasons.
Finally, obesity is an issue that is difficult to solve, but such a sport is very active and enjoyable, so larger people who discover longboarding will find that they are losing weight at a reasonable amounts if they begin such an activity. Plus, seeing as this sport is an outdoor activity it will soon destry issues such as: lack of outdoors, internet addiction, gaming addictions, serious health conditions, little confidence and general well-being of self, and many more.
In conclusion, whoever came up with the idea to have longboarding as against the law ,should, for once, consider what I have just mentioned (and maybe even ride one some day)
@Stirling
Amen to that.
